Wonderful night celebrating the launch of Jeremiah’s new collab with Loloi rugs. We are excited to use these rugs in our projects! It was a fabulous event. Watch out for his launch in High Point. Make sure you stop by Loloi and congratulate them all on Saturday!

When @thebrightwoodskin offered us a special sesh I knew getting ready for @mansioninmay was the perfect timing. Dr Dellavalle took her time getting my skin ready and I feel refreshed!

I don’t mean to brag but my best friend built me a cottage. Nestled behind the main house lies “The Cottage” and it’s where we stay when we visit. It’s a sweet little escape filled with antiques and new finds that begs us to relax and stay a while. We love creating moments and this one feels so good! Our @mansioninmay Foxchase Speakeasy is coming together. This forgotten room in the basement was a treasure waiting to be uncovered. With the wine cellar attached, we imagined a wine tasting room and cozy hangout space for the homeowners and their 3 adult sons. We have tapped our friends to help us reimagine the space and our industry besties have been magical. Wallpaper by @phillipjeffriesltd adorns the walls and ceilings with new herringbone floors by @exceptionalflooringconcepts We hung a gorgeous brass shelf by @palmer_industries and @gorkinglassco over an incredible bar built by our friends @evantopilow and upholstered by @garwood_upholstery @dentetradingco provided marble that @pbstoneworks masterfully cut and placed. Our good friend @lucarello_construction_llc readied the space for us. A couple of mini fridges by @royalgreenappliance make drink prep super easy. Now we wait for the incredible art being delivered Friday by our lady @masonlane_art and @berrycampbell gallery by the great William Perehudoff and Doug Ohlson that will hang over a custom sofa. Things are really coming together! @spoon.and.salt is helping fill the bar with glasses and we will be ready for the big reveal! Have you purchased tickets yet? This is going to be epic this year! This kitchen used to be the dining room in this historic Georgian Colonial. We wanted it to look like perhaps it had always been there. So we added a ceiling detail and made the back of the kitchen look like a scullery. Our client lives for purple and with this home right on the water we knew it had to be the most perfect blue purple. We adore this unique kitchen filled with antiques and new fresh pieces. These clients came to us looking for a luxury build experience that would encompass both design and project management for their renovation. We delivered in every way for their architecturally important home. We loved teaming with @brintonbrosius to give this client an experience we are all proud of. Our client sourced these magical countertops. We suggested tiling the entire wall in this beautiful lavender tile and then worked to find the perfect blue/ lavender/ grey color to paint the cabinets. @benjaminmoore White Stone was the perfect hue. Now the whole kitchen reflects the ocean just outside the door.

On International Women’s Day we celebrate the ladies we get to work with everyday. They all put family first but a close second is their role at Mimi & Hill. Each of them are the glue that binds the vision of the design team to the end result. We are better because of them and in this incredibly busy season we are so thankful they choose to be a part of our team. Upstate with my darling friend who fills both my professional and personal life with more than anyone deserves! Hillary is the truest friend a person could ask for. She longs to bring people together and create core memories to fill the soul. She fills her days making sure that happens. She does that professionally as well: she designs spaces that create intimacy and ease. We are at the home she created for just that (will share more soon why)…Wishing her the happiest of birthdays hoping she gets back as much as she gives. Impossible but a girl can dream!

Designing an open floor plan can feel overwhelming, but thoughtful space planning makes all the difference. In our #MHNevelHaus project, we created distinct yet cohesive zones for the kitchen, dining, and living areas—ensuring both flow and function for modern living. We flipped the builder’s original plan and took the free wall for the TV. The builder was able to flip the door and the fireplace because we had our design intent early enough in the process. Another plug for design being brought in to a project in the earliest phase!

Designing around constraints requires creativity. This kitchen wall housed HVAC units that couldn’t be moved, but we didn’t want to sacrifice valuable storage. During demolition, we identified where space was available and seamlessly integrated a mix of functional and fixed pantry doors. Thoughtful design meets adaptability—proof that sometimes, the best solutions unfold during the process.

No two Mimi & Hill kitchens are ever the same. One of our favorite ways to create distinction is by varying countertop materials between the perimeter and the island. In the first image, we balanced contrast and cohesion by pairing sleek black granite along the outer counters with a striking quartzite centerpiece on the island. This approach adds depth, interest, and a touch of the unexpected—because every detail matters.
